Socialisation, training, habituation and woodland adventure, woven into every single day.
About puppy school
Puppy School at Duncan's Dog Co. is daycare. The same collection times, the same woodland, the same familiar team. What changes is the structure: more rest, gentler introductions, and a pace that matches each puppy's development rather than the group's energy.
Puppies are not kept separate from adult dogs. Calm, well-socialised adults are a deliberate part of the day. They model good manners, demonstrate how to interact in a group, and help puppies feel settled. Eleanor, our puppy specialist, oversees the programme. She holds dog behaviour qualifications and knows every pup by name, temperament and tell.
Everything we do is focused on building confidence, positive associations with new dogs and people, and the calm, happy temperament that makes for a great adult dog.

Why we're different
Puppies learn through calm handling, careful socialisation, familiar people and positive woodland experiences. We keep introductions gentle and matched to each puppy's age and confidence, including calm adult role models where that supports their learning.

Built into every day
Not a course. Not a programme. Just consistent, expert care woven into each puppy day from the start.
Positive, consensual interactions with puppies and suitable adult dogs, learning to read cues, play safely and build confidence with good role models.
Reward-based methods, good manners, recall foundations and calm handling built naturally into the day.
Gradual exposure to new sights, sounds and experiences so puppies build confidence without overwhelm.
Off-lead confidence, safe woodland recall and learning to self-regulate with guidance from the team.
A consistent rhythm helps puppies understand expectations and settle faster with the same calm approach.
Regular updates, honest guidance and help with questions about behaviour, training and settling at home.
We accept puppies from 12 weeks old, provided they have had their primary vaccinations and received veterinary clearance to socialise with other dogs.
It is daycare. Same collection and drop-off times, same woodland, same familiar team. The difference is structure: puppies have a gentler pace, more built-in rest, and introductions matched to where they are developmentally. They are not kept entirely separate from adult dogs. Calm, well-socialised adults play an important role: they model good manners and help puppies understand how to behave in a group. Think of them as the matriarchs of the pack. It is all closely supervised and completely safe.
Eleanor is our puppy specialist. She holds dog behaviour qualifications and genuinely lives and breathes puppy development. She knows every pup's personality and has a rare ability to read early signals before they become problems. Meet Eleanor on our team page.
