A first swim, not a plunge in the deep end
Your dog's first SPLASH session is a proper introduction, not a test. We do not expect them to swim lengths or enjoy it immediately. Some dogs take to the water straight away. Others need a few minutes to find their feet. Both are completely normal.
The session is taster length. You will receive a First Swim Session Report afterwards with our honest assessment of how your dog got on and what we recommend as a next step.
Life vests. Every dog. No exceptions.
Every dog at SPLASH wears a correctly fitted buoyancy aid, regardless of size, breed or swimming history. This is not optional.
The vest gives the team control, keeps your dog safe and means we can focus on how they are moving and feeling rather than holding them up. It makes the whole session calmer for the dog and the team.
Two qualified team members in the water with your dog
Your dog is never in the pool alone. Two qualified SPLASH team members are in the water throughout the session, one supporting the dog and one ready to assist.
We use calm voices, positive reinforcement and your dog's own pace to introduce the water. We do not rush. If your dog wants to take a break on the steps, they take a break on the steps.
What you receive after the session
Every SPLASH taster includes a First Swim Session Report. This covers how your dog handled the introduction to water, how they moved, how they responded to the team and what we recommend next. It is a genuine assessment, not a sales pitch.
You will also receive photos and short video clips taken during the session so you can see exactly how your dog got on.
Exclusive to regular daycare dogs
SPLASH is currently available to dogs who attend Duncan's Dog Co. for regular daycare. This allows our team to know your dog before they come into the water, which makes the introduction calmer and safer for everyone.
